The clearing system requires that EFPs for both CME and CBT be entered using the CME’s Online Clearing 21® EFP (Exchange for Physicals) Trade Entry System. Clearing 21 EFP uses a one-sided entry method, and it is the responsibility of the sell side to submit the trade.
This system appears on your 3270 Supersession menu as PCBT-EFP. It is listed in the same section of the menu as PCBT-TES. EFPs should not be entered as standard type 9 trades.
CBOT firms are also reminded that both buyer and seller are required to enter the proper Order Type Indicator. The claiming clearing
firm should enter the Order Type Indicator prior to claiming the transaction. EXCHANGE FOR PHYSICAL (“EFP”): Order Type Indicator should be blank. EXCHANGE FOR RISK (“EFR”): Order Type Indicator “N”. EXCHANGE FOR SWAP (“EFS”): Order Type Indicator “T”. WHOLESALE TRADE: Order Type Indicator “B”.
